Overtime Woes Continue for Red Wings

Friday night the Wings went up against one of the premiere goaltenders of the league, in Henrik Lundqvist, who had 40 saves. Credit Jimmy Howard for holding his own against the New York Rangers, with 31 saves of his own.

It took a Mats Zuccarello goal 37 seconds into overtime for the Rangers to best Detroit. Tomas Tatar had the Wings lone goal which came at 4:05 in the 3rd period.

Detroit took their one-game road trip back home at LCA to face the New Jersey Devils to come up short, yet again 4-3 in overtime.

Wings were the first to strike with a David Booth goal in the 1st period. New Jersey would respond with 3 goals of their own. Mrazek was replaced by Jimmy Howard with a possible concussion in the 3rd period. It was then when the Red Wings would respond  late in the 3rd period with Anthony Mantha scoring first, followed by another goal for Booth to mount the comeback and send the game into overtime.

Brian Gibbons of the Devils incepted a pass from Nick Jensen to Tomas Tatar to score the game-winner at 2:32 of overtime. With 2 heartbreaking losses in OT, the Wings look to bounce back versus the LA Kings and take advantage of their remaining 2 games of the home stand.
