Earlier this month, for 1984 World Champions, Detroit Tigers legends, Alan Trammell and Lance Parrish hosted their 8th annual Trammell/Parrish Camp at Wayne State University. The camp hosted over 300 kids from grades 2-12. Over the course of the 2-day camp, kids participated in drills and lectures from the former Tigers and their on-site coaches.
Parrish was named the manager of the West Michigan Whitecaps this offseason. He was formerly the manager of Double-A Erie Seawolves.
Trammell currently serves as a Special Assistant to the General Manager within the Detroit Tigers organization. He was named to the 2018 Baseball Hall of Fame by a vote from the Modern Era Committee on December 10th, 2017.
Joining Trammell, Jack Morris will be a member of the 2018 Baseball Hall of Fame Class. Morris and Trammell (MVP) were intricate parts of the 1984 World Series that saw the Detroit Tigers sweep the San Diego Padres. Jack Morris would win 3 more World Series Championships with Minnesota and Toronto. Morris was the World Series MVP in 1991.
Jack made his first autograph appearance since getting the Hall of Fame call at Balkan American Community Center in Troy, MI this past weekend.
The Detroit Tigers will retire both Trammell and Morris’ jersey numbers this summer in separate ceremonies in August. For ticket plans, visit DetroitTigers.com
